Emergency Programs - Seton Center in Maryland

Seton Center is a multi-purpose neighborhood community center located in a low income area of Princess Anne, MD. The purpose and function of Seton Center is to identify and respond to those basic needs affecting the daily lives of the local and migrant farmworker population. Direct service and case advocacy is conducted by staff and volunteers for people who have little or no access to financial resources.

Seton Center's staff works cooperatively with the various service agencies in Somerset County utilizing their services through referrals and as a resource for clients.

Services available at Seton Center include:

  • three food programs ("Brown Bag" food cooperative club, an emergency food pantry and a government surplus program)
  • health prevention advocacy
  • a children's after school program
  • a children's summer program
  • a children's on-going enrichment program
  • a thrift shop
  • women's support groups
  • crisis alleviation -- financial assistance for basic living expenses
  • information and referral services
  • case management
