Human Trafficking is a gross violation of human rights that hides behind the silence of its victims. Sadly, our state is not immune from this grave injustice but, we can help! We may feel that the enormity of this crime against humanity cannot be stopped by our own small efforts, but even one life saved is a powerful change.
Maryland’s Catholic bishops recently issued a statement to raise awareness about human trafficking and to urge all Maryland’s Catholics to attend a free regional informational session called, “Proclaiming Liberty to Captives” presented by the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force and local experts who will provide effective tools for combating human trafficking in our local communities. Sessions will be held in both English and Spanish at St. Francis de Sales in Salisbury, Maryland on April 22, 2017 from 1-3 p.m.
Do not miss this opportunity to learn about human trafficking and ways you can help end it here in Maryland! Please visit the Maryland Catholic Conference’s website http://www.mdcathcon.org/humantrafficking to RSVP for the information session in your region and for a list of other sessions that you may attend.
