August 7, 2017 — (Wilmington, DE) — Reverend Michael J. Carrier, Pastor of the Church of the Holy Child in Wilmington, Delaware, will preside at a prayer service at the graveside of 63 aborted children at Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware or Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The prayer service is part of the annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children co-sponsored by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League. Members of the Delaware Knights of Columbus and other representatives of the pro-life community will be in attendance. The public is invited to attend.

The grave in Cathedral Cemetery holds the earthly remains of 63 aborted babies that were abandoned at a Chicago abortion facility and brought to Wilmington by Delaware Right to Life in December of 1988.

“Cathedral Cemetery is honored to be one of the over 100 locations that will host a solemn vigil to mark the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children,” said Mr. Mark Christian, Executive Director of Catholic Cemeteries for the Diocese of Wilmington. “On this day we pause to remember the loss of close to 60 million children to legal abortion since 1973 and mourn that they were never allowed to make their mark on our world.”
