Catholic Youth Ministry is pleased to announce four great new sessions that youth ministry leaders can download and use with only a little preparation. Each session can be used in a 90 minute or two hour gathering with young people. For best results, download the session you need, gather your supplies, and spend some time reading through the entire session to make sure you have all the resources (and in some cases, professional help) you’ll need.
This session invites high school students to develop the skills needed to effectively and safely navigate their ways through social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.
This session helps high school students understand the dangerous practice of self-abuse (also known as cutting), and explore why this practice is affecting so many of their peers.
This session invites high school students to explore ways to recognize dangers on the internet. In addition, participants will evaluate their current level of online safety and explore ways to become safer online.
This session encourages high school students to explore what they believe about underage drinking and how that conforms or rejects what the Church teaches.
About the author: These sessions were compiled by Laurie Delgatto exclusively for CYM. For more than two decades Laurie has served in the field of youth ministry. She has been involved in national youth ministry training programs and conferences and is the author of more then ten books published by St. Mary’s Press.
