OUR VISION
Recognizing that ministry to, with, and for young people is best rooted at the parish level, the Office for Catholic Youth Ministry looks to the day when all young people of the Diocese of Wilmington are reached by this important ministry. To achieve this goal, we provide a model for the comprehensive approach to youth ministry in a variety of settings for parishes and school communities within the state of Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Specifically, we empower those engaged in youth ministry to respond to the needs of today’s young Church by:
· Providing training and resources to parish and school personnel;
· Providing opportunities for youth and adults to become educated about the risks within today’s society so as to instill skills necessary to live morally productive lives;
· Oversee parish and school programs that promote Christian values while encouraging healthy physical activities;
· Assist in the development of leaders called to serve their communities in the spirit of Jesus Christ;
· Seek and promote a connection between parishes and young adult communities.
Ultimately, we seek to draw the youth and young adults of our diocese and those called to serve them into more responsible participation in the life and mission of the Church.
