The Office of Communications for the Diocese of Wilmington is responsible for all internal and external communications. That is, communications of the Diocese to the general public via the media, and communications within Diocesan departments, parishes, etc.
The Office of Communications is also responsible for the administration of this, the Diocese of Wilmington's Web site (www.cdow.org).
The Office of Public Relations and Media produces a weekly radio program and distributes several others.
Catholic Forum (formerly titled Catholic Forum of the Air) is a half-hour program heard each Sunday morning at 10:05 on 1150 AM WDEL in Wilmington, Delaware. It has been on WDEL since 1939, making Catholic Forum the longest-running Catholic radio program in the United States - maybe even the world. Catholic Forum is also heard every Sunday morning at 9:05 on 100.9FM WAAI in Hurlock/Cambridge, Maryland and each Sunday morning at 10:35 a.m. on 92.7 FM, WGMD in Rehoboth Beach. Catholic Forum features a brief reflection on and introduction of the Sunday Gospel, a proclamation of the Gospel by one of our Diocesan Deacons, a selection or two of inspirational music and an interview segment.
Country Road is a program featuring the wit and wisdom of Fr. Joseph Breighner combined with popular country music. The Office of Communications distributes this show in the Diocese and it is currently heard each Sunday morning at 6:00 on WCEM-FM 106.3 and at 11:30 a.m. on WAAI-FM 100.9 in the Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline County areas of Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Catholic Radio Weekly is a half-hour radio show produced by the Catholic Communications Campaign of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and distributed by the Diocese of Wilmington's Office of Communications. Catholic Radio Weekly includes a mix of features, personality profiles and news maker interviews designed to put the listening audience in touch with the concerns of the Catholic Church across the country and around the world and to spotlight individuals who support Church efforts. Hosted by Johnny Holliday and Carol Lehan, the program includes "Closer Look," a celebrity interview segment with Msgr. Jim Lisante; "Spirit in Sports," a sports figure interview; "Facts of Faith," with information on Catholic beliefs and practices and "Movies, Media and More" a movie review segment.
