Catholic Charities offering new sessions of CADC training in New Castle County

We are now accepting registration for the basic Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor training class. The CADC program not only provides a learning experience in substance abuse counseling but also promotes professional development and growth. The Delaware Certification Board approves the program offered by Catholic Charities as training centers.
The class, beginning Tuesday, May 21, 2014, is held at St. Joseph’s Parish, 115 Cleaver Farm Rd., Middletown, DE 19709.

Seton Center celebrates 30th Anniversary

Catholic Charities Seton Center is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a Family Fun Day on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 2 to 5:30 pm at Seton Center, 30632 Hampden Avenue, Princess Anne, MD 21853.

We’ll have family activities for all to join, including children’s games and face painting, door prizes, a Chinese auction, and tours of the Seton Center.  Spaghetti dinners will be available! Tickets for dinner are $15 per ticket when purchased in advance, and $20 at the door.

The Most Reverend W. Francis Malooly, D.D., Bishop of Wilmington, will visit Seton Center at 2 pm.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with Bayard House

Catholic Charities Georgetown Office is now open evenings

Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that our Sussex County office will now be open two evenings a week. The office, located in Georgetown at 406 S Bedford Street, Ste 9, will now remain open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This change takes effect on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.

The Sussex County office provides many of Catholic Charities programs – Basic Needs, the Delaware Energy Assistance Program [DEAP], Behavioral Health Services, Immigration Services, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program [CACFP].

Those interested in receiving service should call to make an appointment. To schedule appointments for the basic needs assistance or counseling programs, call 302-856-9578. For information or appointments pertaining to the Delaware Energy Assistance Program, call 302-856-6310.

 

New Counseling Services site opens in Salisbury MD

Counseling Services are now available at the Campus Ministry Building of Salisbury University, 1101 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801. This location is centrally located and convenient to public transportation.

Catholic Charities Counselor Jennifer Wheeler is available for appointments at both the Salisbury University location and at Catholic Charities Seton Center, 30632 Hampden Avenue, Princess Anne, MD. Appointments can be scheduled by calling Seton Center at 410-651-9608.

Catholic Charities now accepting motor vehicle donations

Catholic Charities is now accepting donations of cars and other motor vehicles to support its programs benefiting the most vulnerable in our communities. In addition to automobiles, we accept donated cars, trucks, boats, RVs and motorcycles in any condition. Donors can make the gift at no cost to them. Catholic Charities will accept all vehicle donations regardless of condition or registration status, arrange for vehicle pickup, if necessary, and provide the donor with an IRS tax receipt for their records.

The Thrift Center also accepts donations of new or gently used clothing, shoes, household goods, furniture, and working appliances.
